Colin Dowda is a writer and director based in New York City.

He found his way into directing almost by accident, putting on original musicals for a student philanthropy group in college. From there he moved into stand-up, performing in Madison, Las Vegas, and finally Chicago, where he studied at Second City and performed improv and sketch. When live performance shut down in 2020, he started making video sketches, then poured his savings into his first short film, Mixed Signals.

Since then he’s split his time between making his own projects — award-winning shorts, music videos, and live shows— and helping other people make theirs. He’s currently writing his debut feature with his partner, Anna Blanchard, and works as an AD and PA on productions around New York.

He’s represented by NV Talent for on-camera acting.
